Maybe better in english? What's the problem with the license plates? What kind of information you'd like to "read" by looking at the license plate?
Hi, sorry for the late response and thank you for writing in english :-). What kind of information can I get if I know the numberplate? In Sweden I can get information from the national car register, like * when was it first register in Sweden * Is the car imported * Any debt in the car * Who owns the car * Number of owners * plus some more information Most of the cars I have look at, people have hide the numberplate. I'm going to Milan in the middle of June for a Motorcycle trip with some frinds. So if anybody have a 535D Estate for sale in the Milan area, the can send me a private message. Br. Anders
I'm not full sure on what kind of information you can get just from a license plate. I think you could just obtain the information on the current owner (just the basic info, name, surname and address), maybe on the previous owners. Let's see if someone else has more hints. Just for you to know, there are a couple of documents that an italian car has to have, the "Carta di circolazione", reporting all the technical information on the car itself, where you can see whether the car has been bought in Italy or abroad and if it has had different license plates. And the Certificato di Proprietà, where you can see the history of the owners of the car (and clearly who is the last one). You need to "see" the papers. Good luck...
We have something called PRA - Pubblico Registro Automobilistico ( Public Automotive Registry) that is managed by ACI (Italian Automotive Club -> ACI - Website) The information you are looking for have to be registered in it (by law) To get those information you can : - Go in the local ACI office (there is one in each italian province) where you can get the information immediately by paying a little sum of money. - Make a request on the ACI website (this is the direct link for the service : Visurenet) where you can get them (not immediately but in a short time) by paying a little more. Obviously you need the numberplate ... as you've seen car dealers usually cover the numberplate (for a lot of different reasons), but if you contact them and ask for it, surely they will provide ...
