Hello, I'm an Australian living in Italy. I ordered a BMW X1 MSport Black about 1.5 weeks ago. In Australia finance acceptance usually comes through within 2 business, days, is it normal that's it's been over a week and I'm still waiting. Also, I did an Advance of 15k, the Car dealership says that he has already placed the order for my car. Is it normal that the order hasn't shown up under my name through the website. Nor do I have an order number/tracking number etc. Thanks in advace.

@Saveferis, @wewwo (forum moderator) is asking you to briefly introduce yourself creating a new thread here. https://www.bmwpassion.com/forum/forums/mi-presento-io-e-la-mia-bmw.17/ Unfortunately I cannot answer your questions, but a downpayment of 15k eur is huge based on usual standards.
hey mate, Im done on the introduction....cheers. My 15k advance for leasing was so my repayments would be lower. Im finding it bizarre that its taking so long for an answer regarding dealer finance. Just wondering if this is the norm here in Italy. Also nothing showing up on the BMW website regarding my order and reservations after dealer stated he had ordered my car.
Hello Saveferis, welcome to the club (Bmw Passion). Normally the seller issues a copy of the contract at the time of payment.
Thanks mate. I already signed the contract at the dealership and have a copy with my car specs. when I search for my order on the website I get this.
For that one you need to wait when the VIN is assigned and the car built, as far as I remember. Until that you need to reach out to your dealer and ask where you do stand. From what I read here, expect a waiting time of 6-9 months to get the car.
I confirm what @Ale_72 & @er77official wrote. Normally the seller asks for a personal email, to be able to send a code to be entered in the MyBMW app in order to follow the main stages of manufacturing. You will need to create an account. Please try asking your dealer for this code, they get from BMW company.
I think delay in finance answer is due your non-EU citizenship, aspetto a EU citizen bank and finance have easy access to your bank rating, for non EU I think there's a different path, including translation of papera, wich can drive to such a kind of delay, for sure if some step is missing the seller and/or finance will advice just in time Just be patient as all new X1 are here waiting for their car
Thanks for the reply............The Car dealer has all my details, I've already signed up with the My BMW app, I used the configurator to save my car in the app and used a code to access it at the car dealership. I asked again tonight, he said BMW hasn't given a code as yet. How long does it usually take ? from signing the contract to the dealer giving you the code/VIN
Can be months. The VIN is given from the factory to the dealer once the car production is completed, as far as I understood.
I'm an Italian citizen by decent....so that cant be the issue. I can get a home loan quicker than this in Australia.....hahah.
So that would mean you cant even track the build of the car, only from when its finished and when its being transported to its destination.
Yup. By yourself it’s like that. Before that (build status 150, quickly Google bmw build status codes) you have to bother your salesman. He can obviously check the car status but that is not shared automatically with the end customer.
Saveferis don't worry, the code on the My BMW app becomes operational usually in 2/3 weeks, check the situation every now and then. However, you can safely call your salesman, who can monitor the status of the car in production on video. He will let you know the VIN code as soon as the car has been produced, usually 3 months, but production times have recently expanded due to lack of components.
On my contract dated 8.1.2023. there is no delivery date stated. Ive been asking for it from the dealer weekly. He's stated that he's waiting on BMW. I don't think it's normal to be a month out from signing a contract with no stipulated delivery date. Has everyone else experienced this when purchasing their X1.
That's quite strange, did you purchase your car by an official BMW dealer, contracts are standard from BMW and, even if not somewhat mandatory, a delivery date must be stated
Very strange because the standard BMW purchase agreement allows 50 days delay for the delivery after which it's seller default.
