The updated models will follow the steps of the recently unveiled 340i and the upcoming 440i and X4 M40i, and deliver an additional 15 horsepower for a total of 340 hp. The current M235i is powered by the N55 six-cylinder inline powerplant with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology which generates maximum output of 240 kW/326 hp and accelerates the BMW M235i Coupe from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds. The hatch M135i received a refresh earlier last year with a 6 horsepower increase for a total of 326 hp and 450 Nm of torque between 1300-4500 rpm. The updated engines are matted to a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic with shifting paddles. BMW will offer the M240i Coupe and Convertible in the U.S., while the M140i hatchback will continue to be sold in Europe.
