/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />
all'avanguardia della tecnica....BMW [h=2]MW 440i joins the family, M4 GTS gets carbon compound wheels[/h] BMW has announced a series of improvements for its model lineup, effective from spring 2016. Starting with the 4 Series, it gets a refreshed engine portfolio, where the flagship 440i variant will feature the same engine as the 340i, introduced last year. It is a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder inline unit with 326 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The engine channels its power to the wheels through a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional eight-speed automatic. At an extra cost, customers can also order the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system. A quick look at the acceleration times of the new 440i range shows the fastest model will be the 440i Coupe, which sprints from a standstill to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 5.0 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the outgoing 430i. The Bavarian company is also introducing the 325d Sedan and 325d Touring models, featuring a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter diesel engine. Benefiting from the latest edition of BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, this unit develops maximum output of 224 hp, providing 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in 6.1 seconds and 6.3 seconds for the Sedan and Touring, respectively. The flagship model from the 3 Series/4 Series family – the M4 GTS, gains M Carbon Compound wheels. Designed for the race track yet also approved for road use, this innovation makes the car the world’s first series-produced vehicle that can be fitted with wheels boasting a CFRP/aluminum-composite construction, BMW claims. The wheels are around seven kilograms lighter than the lightweight forged aluminum wheels of the M4 GTS. Going back from the track to the public roads, the 7 Series will be available as a 740Li xDrive model as of March 2016. It is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 326 hp that provides acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.2 seconds. The average fuel consumption stands at 37.7 – 38.7 miles per gallon (7.3 – 7.5 liters per 100 km). The flagship luxury limousine will also finally get the Remote Control Parking system that will be available for all 7 Series models starting from March 2016. This option allows the vehicle to maneuver itself in or out of forward-parking spaces or garages without anyone at the wheel. The system is controlled through the BMW Display Key.
